What is this resource?
This paper is a summary from the discussions at the CRIG meeting in December 2020 about how members approach supporting PPI in lab-based research. It covers how members involve people in lab-based research, challenges and improvements.
Who was it developed by?
CRIG members.

Practical guide to PPI in lab-based research
Resource was added by: Bec Hanley
What is this resource?
This website offers guidance, case studies and reflections on PPI in lab based research. The guidance comes from a project exploring this topic, whereby CRIG members supported lab-based researchers to involve people affected by conditions in their work and evalutated the effectiveness of different PPI methods.
Who was it developed by?
The Alzheimer’s Society, Parkinson’s UK and UCLH Biomedical Research Centre worked in partnership on this.
When might it be useful?
Read the guidance when supporting lab-based researchers with involvement and refer researchers directly to it.

What is this resource?
Final report from a project exploring PPI in lab based research. This report led to the development of a website offering guidance about PPI in lab based research which you can also find in the resource centre.
Who was it developed by?
The project was led by Alzheimer's Society, Parkinson's UK and the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at UCLH. Bec completed the evaluation and wrote the report.
When might it be useful?
Read the report and visit the website if you are trying to understand the benefits and challenges of PPI in lab-based research or if you are supporting lab-based researchers with PPI.
